Why are blueberries good for you.

Why are blueberries good for you.

BLUEBERRIES !

Did you know that blueberries are one of the food I like the most ? Not only because it taste amazing but also because of all its health benefits 😍
A little bit of history, the Blueberry properties were discovered during the World War II ! Indeed, it seems that it was the pilots of the British Royal Air Force who made the discovery. Since they had to fly at night to escape the Germans, they had become accustomed to consuming blueberry jam to improve their vision in the dark. This practice proved to be very effective and today, after lots of research especially at Harvard, here is what was discovered :

Anthocyanidins present in blueberries helps prevent macular degeneration, as well as cataracts. Anthocyanidins also have the property of protecting brain tissue and preventing deterioration of motor functions.

Bioflavonoids help reduces visual fatigue and its antioxidant action protects the tissues of the eye against oxidation.

✅ Blueberries can reduce blood pressure thanks to nitric oxide. Which is known to “widen” blood vessels and increase blood flow and blood pressure.

Flavonoids, substances recognized for their antioxidant properties that oppose cellular aging.

✅ Lots of Vitamins C, K, zinc, maganese, potassium

If you want to protect your vision and general health, eat regularly 2-3 handfuls of them per week. Wild blueberries and organic are the best (less water and more antioxydants in the wild ones). If you can’t buy them organic, let them soap at least 15 minutes in warm water and add baking soda to remove lots of pesticides !

Do you eat/ like blueberries ?

Aloe vera gel and detox

Aloe vera gel and detox

What exactly does “detox” mean?

Detoxifying the body is to put one’s various assimilation functions at rest. This approach differs from fasting where only water intake is provided. During the detox, it is necessary to suppress the fats, sugars and various excitants which tire and clog the organism. When eliminating toxins, it is especially the functions elimination that must be stimulated.

Every day, without knowing it, we are exposed to millions of toxins. Whether it’s in the air or in our plates, in the water we drink every day, in some products that we use on our skin, pharmaceutical drug residues and many other substances. Besides the toxins that our body naturally produces, it is impossible to avoid it. As of today, the accumulation of toxic load in the body causes an increase in toxic diseases. Research has revealed that it would also be responsible for rapid aging, such as degenerative and autoimmune diseases.

How can Aloe Vera help ?

Aloe vera is well known for its beneficial effects on burns but a less for its action on the liver. Indeed, aloe vera contains many vitamins, minerals, trace elements. Which cleanse the colon, help cell regeneration, support the immune system, increase the level of energy and neutralizes bad toxins. It has natural healing and detoxifying powers and works slowly in the intestinal tract to help break down contaminated food residues and cleanse the instestine completely. Aloe vera helps to improve digestive comfort and reduce bloating and can therefore help relieve constipation and prevent diarrhea.

The natural therapeutic approach maintains that the constant effort of the bodys life force is always in the sense of self-cleaning, self-healing and positive health. Philosophy maintains that even an acute illness is a manifestation the bodys efforts towards self-care or homeostasis. The disease, or degraded health, can only be eliminated by removing the actual cause and increasing the general vitality of the body, so that its natural capacity. The natural therapeutic philosophy also maintains that chronic diseases are often the result of erroneous efforts to heal or attempt to suppress the physiological efforts of the body to cleanse itself. – Henry Lindlahr – The philosophy of natural therapeutics

The human body is made so that it is able to eliminate the bad toxins by itself. However, the toxic load is sometimes too important and the liver needs some help. A detox cure can be beneficial before the seasons change as in spring and autumn. This avoids having weakened immune defenses and prevents bad bacteria from settling permanently.

What are the signs of toxic load ?

Fever is usually the first signal of an infection, whether bacterial or viral. We often try today to lower the body temperature as quickly as possible while helping to eliminate bad toxins from the body. “The ideal temperature for a fever is between 102-103°F for fighting infectious disease. 104-107°F is considered the point where dehydration becomes a serious concern and a fever above 107°F is considered dangerous”. Fever creates an unfavorable environment for viruses and bacteria that generally have a very high temperature range in which they can survive by increasing the metabolic rate of the body. The circulation of blood and lymph. Thus accelerating the elimination of the blood from the toxic charge (the bacteria destroyed) and the nutrition of the diseased zones. Like Hippocrates said “Give me a fever, and I can cure any disease“.

Inflammation, swelling, edema are actions of the body to locate a problem. The inflammatory reaction is a defense reaction to aggression on our body, such as a burn, cut, allergy … When part of our body is a victim of a wound, for example, the body protects itself by fighting against the eventual microbes, to prevent infection. Edema is a disorder of the blood circulation. It is a swelling of the tissues due to the presence of an abnormal amount of liquid.

Vomiting and diarrhea are attempts by the body to try to evacuate toxic substances. This can be the cause of a bacteria infection or a toxin. In this case, the intestinal walls are attacked by the intruder: the absorption of water is no longer done, there is even an excess of secretions. The best-known bacteria are staphylococci and the famous salmonella.

Sweating occurs in the system through the skin. It helps the body maintain an ideal temperature during unusual heat and avoids putting your health at risk. It also allowed your body getting rid of bad toxin. Infrared saunas are often recommended for patients with chronic disease.

Detox is a deep cleansing that will find toxins in every nook and cranny of your body. When you remove the dust from the house, it flies everywhere, and can make you sick. Same in your body: during the detox, “old” toxins are dislodged and circulate again in the blood system. That is why you can have more pimples/acne. Local infections result from the decomposition of vital tissues in waste.

How too much sugar intake can affect your body ?

How too much sugar intake can affect your body ?

We all know that the human body needs sugar. But do you know how much of it to consume? And what kind ? On average, a woman can consume up to 6 teaspoons a day and 9 teaspoons for men. But that’s without counting that it is found naturally in the fruits! On average, Westerners consume about 20 spoons a day. Also understand that it is not found mainly in sweet foods, but also bread, starchy foods, tomatoes, protein bars, ready-made / frozen dishes, …

As of today, it is very easy to exceed its recommended daily consumption and it is for this reason that many of us develop chronic diseases, are overweight, have diabetes, … To avoid getting there, the goal is to read the labels well, and especially to understand them! We stop the consumption of processed foods, and products containing corn syrup, agave nectar, palm sugar, cane juice, or sucrose which are bad for health and we focus on natural sweetener such as fruit or coconut sugar and xylitol which are natural and have a very low glycolic level. Now let’s see what an excessive consumption of sugary food in your body can cause.

Gaining Weight

This is not new, the more you will eat refined sugar and the more weight you will gain. But knowledge does not change the situation, as the rate of obesity in the world continues to increase and the number of refined sugar in everyday products continues to grow. Whether it’s in kids fruit juices, sodas, fast food, processed-food…. In addition, when you consume sweets, regardless of its form, you increase your intake of fructose. Your body will therefore ask for more than glucose. And excessive fructose consumption can cause resistance to leptin, a hormone that regulates your appetite ! But its not just about the wight, you also increase your chance of bad cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease.

Is it really worth it knowing that refined sugar has no nutritional benefit ..

May increase your risk of heart disease

Nowadays, it is not easy to pass by all the delicious sweets that surround us. Whether it’s ice cream in the summer, refreshing sodas, comforting cakes, the list could be very long. Do you know that a 16oz can of soda contains 52 grams of added sugar? Which is already 10% higher than what we can consume daily !

But why eating sweets is bad for your heart? First, it may cause you to gain weight, inflammatory problems may occur, your triglycerides will rise and your blood pressure may be high too. All this leads to a risk of heart attack. Sugar affects the arteries by creating some walls, reducing the space for blood circulation. The heart will work more and will be exhausted easily to pump blood. In long term, it will create stress for your heart that will unfortunately end in a heart disease, stroke, or a heart attack.

A medical study of about 15 years suggests that people who regularly eat refined sugar (more than the daily CDC recommandation) were much more likely to die of cardiac arrest than people who consumed very little.

Can change your mood

Have you ever heard someone saying “sugar-high” or “sugar-drunk“? When you ingest too much of it in a short period of time, this will bring you an energy boost that is bind to the blood sugar levels that will increase (hyperglycemia). However, some studies have shown that sweets consumption can also cause depression. Indeed, it happens when your sugar level decreases (sugar-crash). Indeed, a 2017 medical research showing that patients with elevated blood sugar levels were at greater risk of being diagnosed with mental problems.

Bad for teeth – Cavities

Most bacteria feed on sugar. Your mouth is the ideal place for them to be ! When they feed, the bacterias will release ‘acid byproducts’ that will cause dental problems such as cavities or tooth demineralization. The only way to have a perfect dental hygiene is to absolutely avoid sweets of any kind and if you eat some, do not forget to floss and brush your teeth! You can also use a mouthwash with coconut oil in the morning when you wake up to eliminate toxins and bad bacteria. It is at this time of day that they are most present. Moreover, it will help you keep your teeth white and healthy!

Diabetes

Overconsumption of sugary food leads to risks of diabetes, even more if you have a family history. When you consume too much sugar, your body can build insulin resistance. Even so, the link between sugar and diabetes is undefined, as it is often causes weight problems and can ultimately lead to diabetes 2.

Skin problem like Acne

High consumption of refined carbohydrate and sugar can increase your risk of skin problems and especially acne. Sugary food create a spike of insulin level and high blood pressure which lead to an increased of androgen secretion, oil production and inflammation. Which play a part in acne development. Some studies shows that following a low carb diet will be ideal for patients with acne.

Can increase skin aging process

The aging of the skin is a natural human process. At the age of 20, the cells of the skin begin to age and wrinkles can appear. However, the premature aging of the skin can also be linked to the consumption of sugar which in contact with protein, leads to the activation of Advanced glycation end products (AGEs). This therefore causes significant damage to your collagen and elastin productions and makes your skin less firm with the times.

Increase the risk of fatty liver

When you eat a fruit, it is natural sugar intake, and contains sucrose, fructose and glucose. When you eat white or refined sugar it is fructose. Glucose is needed in many cells for energetic processes, its degradation providing energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate. Fructose is essentially treated by the liver and stored as glycogen. Except that if the liver stores too much Glycogen, the exceeded amount will turn into fat. It can then lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

12 amazing health benefits of aloe vera

12 amazing health benefits of aloe vera

Aloe vera is famous for its virtues since the dawn of time. Known by Native Americans as the “wand of heaven” and among Egyptians as “the plant of immortality”, Cleopatra used it to keep her youth. Aloe vera is a gold mine when it comes to health benefits. This is a plant with excellent natural remedy against burns, cuts and different types of wounds. There are also other uses of this plant to prevent our body from being affected by more than one disease or infection. Are you ready ?

What Aloe Vera is made of ?

Aloe produces 2 substances very different in appearance and therapeutic properties. It is important not to confuse them.

Latex, a bitter yellow sap present in the tiny channels of the bark, contains mainly aloin (20% to 40% anthranoids), it’s a molecule with strong laxative effects. It may be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes.

Aloe vera gel, consisting of a clear mucilage found in the heart of the large leaves of aloe, has strong emollient properties (which softens tissues). It is widely used in cosmetology and dermatology. It can also be taken internally, in the form of capsules or juice (drink comprising at least 80% gel).

It is not always easy to treat burns. There’s a need to find the balance between reducing and controlling possible bacterial infections and natural healing. Since the first use of Aloe vera gel, many tests have been done. ‘By 1959, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of aloe vera ointment as an over-the-counter medication for healing burns on the skin. When aloe vera gel is used on burns, it prevents UV-induced suppression so the area can heal at a faster rate.’

4- Help in the process of body’s detoxification

The high water content of aloe vera is perfect for maintaining an optimal renal function. Did you know that it also aids detoxification of the liver? Closely linked to cucumber in its water content, aloe vera gel quickly becomes a favorite when it comes to detoxifying the liver.
